Message from Andy Wakeling.

There is a players meeting on Tuesday 7th July at 7.30 pm (NOT Sat 4th)

There should be time for light training  afterwards!

Please be prompt as it is your club and if you want to have your say and be part of the decision making process, it is important that you attend.

Training will start on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7th July  onwards  7.30pm – 9.00pm.

We have a new 1st XV Captain and Vice-Captain.

Message from Kevin Lynch 3rd Team Captain
It is a great honour and privilege for me to have been elected as 3rd team captain for the coming season, a job which I will not take lightly. We had a couple of great days down the club last year with 3 teams playing and I am hoping for many more this year. Lets all try and get involved this year and take some of the pressure off the other stalwarts of the club. Thanks to John for getting us into the merit table at late notice.
Please encourage all your mates down to play this year, the more players the better! The 3rd team will be a mixture of old boys and a good few new young signings. Sponge fist has already committed to the 3rds for next season and has been appointed as the teams enforcement officer. Other transfers include top try scorer Ross Osborne from the 2nd's who lucky kept dropping last year! Club legend James Crompton (AKA Brittle Bones) is coming out of retirement for one last throw of the dice. Wynn and Casey will be battling it out for the number 9 shirt. Bone Breaker Tony Maile is determined to play more than 3 games this season and who knows the legendary Chris Thraves may return from exile in Dorset. Also our mini's Chairman Rob "get out of my way" Lines is looking for the odd run out.
Selection will be based on traditional values such as buying your captain plenty of beer and protecting him on the pitch.
I can confirm that the mighty 3rd's will not be playing under the name of The Pheasants next year, watch this space for more information. Lucky Trev and Saunders will be organising many pub crawls this year so please get involved, we need to let St Albans know the V's are the best club in the district to play for and to drink with.
