Vees were unlucky to go down to Chesham on Saturday.
With four people making Vee's debuts and three people only starting for the second time in a Vee's shirt it was remarkable how well we played.
Chesham took an early lead (missed tackle by myself) but Vees fought hard for Richard Tanner to equal the score 5 - 5 at half time.
We made five changes at half time to ensure everyone got a game. Chesham again went ahead with a dubious forward pass. Vees debutant Jamie pulled it back with a fine score under the posts. A ten minute break followed as Chesham had a player unconscious after colliding with the post. Osbourne converted to make it 12 - 16 and with ten minutes to go we looked good for the win.
Chesham brought on a couple of players and scored almost immediately (Another forward pass) and finished with 2 penalties.
The game was well spirited and even the Chesham captain fined two players in the bar for forward passes that resulted in tries, enough said.
Thanks Chesham for being good hosts and thanks guys it was a good start. Special thanks to Chris Selkirk for first aid.
